Cyanotype Workshop

$75.00

During this 3-hour workshop, each student will learn how to use fabric squares pre-treated with cyanotype chemistry to create a personal cyanotype patch. Botanical materials will be available, and students are invited to bring their own objects to experiment with.

After rinsing and drying your cyanotype, we will have needles and thread available for you to sew your patch onto an article of clothing or bag. The patches will be approximately 5”x5” in size.

Optional:

  • Bring special plants or small personal objects to use on the cyanotype to create a silhouette with an image that’s unique to you

  • Bring an article of clothing or bag to adhere your patch to!

Instructor Bio:

Megan Bainbridge is a lens-based artist from Saco, Maine. She graduated in 2023 with a dual degree in Photography (B.F.A.) and Sociology (B.A.) from the University of Hartford. As a fine artist, she explores personal and sociological topics through various avenues. She is interested in topics such as dual nationality, ethical tourism, and food additive safety advocacy. Megan is well versed in a range of photographic techniques such as digital, analog, and alternative processes. Her specialty is experimental color darkroom photography. Currently, she teaches a Cyanotype Workshop in Southern Maine. She values meaningful connections, networking, and collaboration.
