Upcoming Workshops
Cyanotype Workshop — February 14th, $75
In this 3-hour workshop, students will use pre-treated fabric squares to create a 5”x5” personal cyanotype patch. Botanical materials will be provided, and participants may bring small objects to create silhouettes. Needles and thread will be available to sew the patch onto clothing or a bag brought from home.
Zine Workshop — February 25th, March 11th, March 25th, and April 8th, $300
This intermediate to advanced level course is designed for photographers with an existing practice or catalog of work who want to curate a body of work into a book form. Through guided discussion and collaborative exercises, participants will refine their vision and bring their photobook to life.
Intro to Black & White Darkroom — March 8th, March 22nd, April 5th, and April 19th, $300
Learn the foundations of 35mm film photography and hands-on darkroom work. Participants will gain confidence with camera settings – aperture, ISO, shutter speed, light metering, and loading/unloading film – along with essential darkroom exposure and development, dodging and burning techniques, using filters and print evaluation.
Digital Printing Workshop — March 10th, March 24th, and April 7th, $300
This course introduces the essentials of file management, workflow organization, and photo editing for inkjet printing. Students will learn how to set up Lightroom catalogs, prepare files for Photoshop, and make final print-ready edits. The workshop concludes with creating a set of sample prints on a variety of papers and, if time allows, one larger print using the Bakery’s large-format roll printers.

Open Studio Session at the Bakery Photo Collective is a community day dedicated to learning and the sharing of photographic information. All are welcome no matter your experience! For our 3rd Open Studio, we will be focusing on black and white film developing only.

The Collodion Process: A Tintype Workshop with Cole Caswell: 2023
Come learn the antique, photographic process of the tintype! Participants will be lead through all stages of the wet-plate collodion process: the techniques of preparing a plate, the pouring of collodion, plus exposing, developing, fixing, and varnishing, with special attention to chemical care and safety. Students will work together and one-on-one with Cole, to produce one-of-a-kind tintypes. For beginner to intermediate levels. Returning students are welcome as every plate is unique!
