This introductory course for black and white film photography is designed to provide participants with an understanding of 35mm photography and the foundations for darkroom usage. Topics covered include but are not limited to: camera operation (aperture, ISO, shutter speed, light meter interpretation), film processing, darkroom setup, and darkroom printing.

This course is an extension of our Intro to Black and White Darkroom class. This is great class to take if you're processing film at home and haven't printed in the darkroom recently, need a small refresher and would like to learn some additional skills for printing, such as: pushing and pulling film, multi-filter dodging and burning, and splitgrade printing.
Open studio sessions are community days for learning and sharing photographic knowledge - open to all experience levels, Choose to focus on B&W development or digital printing. Please register for one session to ensure space for everyone.

During this 3-hour workshop, each student will learn how to use fabric squares pre-treated with cyanotype chemistry to create a personal cyanotype patch. Botanical materials will be available, and students are invited to bring their own objects to experiment with.
